J. Mercer grew up in Wisconsin where she walked home from school with her head in a book, filled notebooks with stories in junior high, then went to college for accounting and psychology only to open a dog daycare. She now writes and edits full time.

Her novel IN ONE LIFE AND OUT ANOTHER was a finalist for the Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards, TRIPLICITY won a Moonbeam silver, and SHADY WOODS received a perfect score from the BookLife Prize, an indie arm of Publisher’s Weekly.

When not writing, Jo can be found lakeside in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, watching her daughters dance, or exploring with her husband. In another life, she likes to believe she might have been an expert linguist, a therapist, designer, or master chef.
